I think our auto-delete function was a bit too aggressive. I have it set to 5 years now. Of course, if a thread is viewed or commented on, it re-sets the 5-year clock

Ah ok, I didn't realise there was an autodelete, but I guess pruning makes room on the server for new stuff.

Yeah when we were back on GoDaddy they shut the site down because we used up too much storage space, without warning mind you, and they REFUSED to tell me how much space I needed to prune to get back on line. I went in and deleted a bunch of chit, then went back to them. They said I was still over, so I pruned more. I went thru several cycles of this. Thats when I vowed to drop them.
The new host claims unlimited space, but I set it for 5 years. dont want to push my luck
