► Yes, well it took the airports to get things started. Bozo didn't halt any incoming flights there, not even from China, until February

and population density in general has to present a problem for mitigation there
"Yes, well it took the airports to get things started. "

Doubling down on your insufficient argument and not even using the helpful hints I gave you . lolol

All states have airports chet.

More flights from China go into California (especially San Francisco) than into New York as evidenced by this link.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Air_route ... _and_China

There was a partial ban from Trump on travel from mainland China on February 1 but there were exemptions. So it was not total. Also one from Europe in Mid march. But that applied to California as well as New York and clearly California by any measure has done a superior job to New York dealing with Covid-19 to this point. And was Cuomo helpless to add restrictions to the partial bans once those travelers reached New York or could he have added restrictions. I have not found a definitive answer on that.

And if memory serves some on the left, Bernie Sanders among them inferred and or straight up accused the Travel Ban to China as racist and or Xenophobic. But I could be mistaken about that.

And finally here is a little article where on or around February 27 of this year the WHO advise against the application of travel or trade restrictions to countries experiencing COVID-19 outbreaks.

https://www.who.int/news-room/articles- ... 9-outbreak
► I thought he applied restrictions on the west coast first
What I read did not specify if he applied restriction in a specific area first or not but if he did the West Coast would certainly have been the best place to start given that the West Coast (especially California) has more passengers coming from China than does the East Coast.

BTW-Did you notice what the WHO advised (or more accurately advised against regarding travel restrictions on or around February 27.
► Well, Azar got word of COVID Jan 3 and fretted for two weeks over how to tell Bozo

And even then Bozo didn't want to move on it. They had to impress him with the sheer volume of traffic, and he was stunned to hear it.

We actually had virologists in Wuhan, and private citizens too. A hip pandemic response team like the one Trump got rid of in 2017 could have alerted a smarter administration in ample time to implement precautions
What Azar did or did not do regarding travel restrictions does not change the fact of what the WHO said about them on or around February 27 a full 26 days after Trump imposed a partial ban on flights from China. And his "fretting " as you call it does nothing to change when he did tell Trump.

Meanwhile the fact is that more flights from China come into California than New York.
► That's all true, of course. I'm not taking issue with it.

Just saying Bozo did too little too late
26 days prior for a partial ban ahead of when the WHO advised against travel restrictions was a little too late?

Meanwhile the guy whose state has the most total deaths and second highest deaths per million behind it's armpit New Jersey is going to receive an award for his virus briefings?
► Oh, yes. Too little too late

He should have implemented restrictions sooner, and deployed mass testing to the airports in at least early January

But he and his son-in-law thought an announcement like that would hurt the stock market. So he screwed around for months
So the WHO advisory against travel restrictions should have been ignored by Trump? Perhaps so. They don't seem to have a f***ing clue.

The stock market was hurt. The DJIA dropped 10,000 points in just a few months. MSNBC ran a special series of programming called markets in Crisis for months due to the drop in the financial markets.

Of course it also has bounced back up to set recent all time highs.
► Yes the market reacted anyway, even though Bozo went out on stage in person urging people to buy stock

It did what it was gonna do even if Bozo said mum's the word

It's been a big 2020 for me and many others invested in the financial markets,. So long as the Republicans win at least one of the two Georgia Senate seats I am confident 2021 will be as well.

I don't think Presidents are all that knowledgeable about economies though. They get too much credit when economies are great, and too much blame when the economy goes south
