Why would any American want to honor traitors who betrayed their country in order to preserve and expand human bondage?

The Confederates betrayed the USA and waged war on the USA to preserve and expand slavery. There is nothing to honor.

So Memphis wanted to selectively commemorate the last 200 years k got it
Memphis simply decided not to honor traitors.

There is no good reason to honor traitors.
Shred all the currency you have that depicts Washington
Why? He wasn't a traitor to the USA unlike the Confederates.
He was a traitor to the established government of his day. And a slave owner to boot

1)he colonies existed.

2) several Confederate states documented their reasons for secession. I suggest you read them.

Keep to the subject.

Take a look at MIssissippi's Declaration of Causes. You will find the following: "It refuses the admission of new slave States into the Union, and seeks to extinguish it by confining it within its present limits, denying the power of expansion."

Take a look at the Confederate Constitution, which prohibited laws “impairing the right of property in ##### slaves,” meaning that no state could ever abolish slavery even if it wanted to.
