Vandals with no positive ideas for the environment massive egos and lots of anger.
The answer is to basically replace fossil fuels with a like for like equivalent that does not add to net atmospheric CO2 levels.
When that happens, it doesn't matter what the carbon footprint of an engine is per mile because the closed cycle fuel source cancels out the emissions.
