Ken Holland is a dinosaur. It's time for Yzerman to come home.

I read that Yzerman told his players he is "going home to Detroit".

He still has a year left on his TB contract though.

I hope so. They just extended Holland 2 years. This could get a little messy, but Holland has not fared well since the salary cap era started. It's time for him to go.

The salary cap era turned the NHL into a draft and develop league right after the Wings traded away all their draft choices to get all the glitzy free agents that helped bring us the cups. SO we started the era with a depleted larder. That said, Holland has signed some long, expensive dubious contracts. Not only have these guys not performed, the contracts have made them untradeable, and this is where I fault Holland. Yzerman has been masterful negotiating contracts for TB and I think he is a premier salaray cap era GM.
