If past plants are any indication, be prepared for a huge invasion of illegal immigrants.

In neighboring Mississippi the poultry producers $trongly lobbied to trash legislation that would have resulted in strong enforcement of laws restricting illegal aliens being employed. Cheap labor from south of the border is what makes poultry farming very profitable in Mississippi and it's certain that Tennessee investors are looking for the same work force.

Did they pass the restrictions?

If the labor is documented, where's the problem?

No. The legislation was tossed out even though there was overwhelming support for passage.

But that's the point. The legislation was to strictly enforce illegal alien laws but it was not allowed to be voted on due to the lobbying from poultry and catfish farmers and the hospitality industry. Our Tea Bagger Republicans put on a great dog and pony show to give their constituents a law that would have virtually ended illegal aliens working here but the big money wanted to keep the cheap labor and they won. It's the same situation with Washington. Trump talks a tough game on illegals but he will not pass significant legislation to get them out of the country. The Wall is just more Trump tough talk. He could have already pushed through legislation that heavily fined those who employed the illegals but that won't happen.

The GOP will pass tax cuts for the wealthy and increased funding for the Pentagon but the illegals will remain as 2nd class citizens and Social Security will be shrunk to an insignificant entitlement.

THAT is the point. They are hiring illegals. And it makes financial sense. The fines are miniscule compared to the money they save.

The GOP has 2 problems with illegal aliens and that is how to pass amnesty and call it something else that the Tea Baggers can't understand while not allowing the newly legal aliens to vote for 20 years. The GOP is primarily beholding to the wealthy donors who provide the cash needed to market their candidates to the gullible Tea Baggers. The next Governor of Tennessee, Randy Boyd is a center right Republican who pretends Trump is a pretender to the throne. And if Boyd is miss reading the tea leaves Corker is the likely next governor. He also leans centrist and is much more pragmatic than partisan.

But partisan politics has the base on the left and right throwing rocks each other's fringes while party regulars run both shows. That leaves the corpocracy in charge regardless who gets elected.
