If you aren't in over your head, how do you know how tall you are?

Even the normal 737 series have pitch power issues, they were never designed to have high bypass turbofan engines.
The undercarriage wasn't designed to accommodate such things.

They've taken this:

They turned it into this:

And accommodated bigger and bigger engines by putting them more and more forward on the wings.
It affects the centre of gravity.

It affects where the thrust comes from.

The pitch power issues were enough of an annoyance that airline pilots on the 800 don't think that much of the design.

The Max has the engines forward and up, to avoid touching the ground. It has such big pitch power issues a software fix was introduced to sort out the trim.

Unfortunately with sensors failing the sofware causing the aircraft to trim nose down, it caused unrecoverable dives and fatal crashes.

I would argue it's still a flawed design.

One of my friends is a type rated first officer on the 737 800 series.

The very powerful and the very stupid have one thing in common:
They don't alters their views to fit the facts, they alter the facts to fit the views.
