Friend of mine got a text from Capital One in the wee hours. The text said they saw suspicious activity and that they were going to kill his card. He didn't hear the text come across because he was fast asleep.
Later that day he tried to use the card but discovered it was dead. After looking into it my friend discovered $3200 in fraudulent charges and $3200 of his own money was gone. (I guess he uses them as a bank). After a few days of back and forth on the phone and internet, Cap One came back and said they didn't see anything out of order and they would not be replacing the money. What the actual funking funk?
No it's not me. I haven't had Cap One for many years. When I had crooks charge Ryanair tix, hotel rooms in Paris, and cell phone accessories in Germany on my card, all within 30 minutes, Cap One shut my card down and eventually fixed me properly. They grilled me on the phone but they did make it right.
