centralized government does not work

Post by antifa » Mon Apr 08, 2019 11:39 pm

China almost gets away with it because Beijing allows for a strong, reactive, local government.
The EU was doomed from the start. It's only a matter of time (30 years) until the US is fragmented in to several different countries based on culture.

There is no way we can continue to allow 25% of the populace to dictate how our vast diversity should be ruled over.

Our two-party system in DC has recently proven that our so-called democracy is fubar. States that actually finance our divided nation will not tolerate the American version of sharia law to be forced on those capable of critical thinking.

Even if our politicians were not corrupt, a 51% vote in DC would still be out of touch with the majority of Americans. Local government of and for the people is the only way to end this socioeconomic clusterfuck.

I'm not a big fan of the Cato institute but occasionally they get it right. Winner and loser states have helped cause the divide but we should all be able to agree that the vast flow of cash going to DC has to stop so that local government can afford to invest in the community.

By Chris Edwards
Ninety years ago, two-thirds of government spending in America was state-local and one-third was federal. Today, it is the reverse with about two-thirds federal and one-third state-local. American government has become larger and much more centralized. That centralization has made winners and losers among the states as vast flows of taxpayer cash pour into Washington and are then dispersed through more than 2,200 federal spending programs.

So how did we end up with a failed centralized government?

The answer is complacency = complicity. After the baby boomers ended the Vietnam war, they became focused on their career and keeping up with the Joneses. As long as they had a house in suburbia, 2 cars, and 2.5 kids, they no longer cared what government was doing.

Their complacency led to the deregulation of Wall Street, a single jurist on the supreme court circumventing state election law to select his personal choice for potus. We ended up with perpetual war, S&L and bank bailouts, a decaying infrastructure, and no job opportunities for millennials.

That is how social engineering works. Give a few generations opportunity for success and they will be complicit in the making of a fascist state. The children and grandchildren of baby boomers are left to clean up the ashes.

How would a single Justice hand down a ruling, and what state law was circumvented?

The constitution clearly gives election law to the states. The supreme court cannot stop a recount. They may be able to order one to take place, but it would be best for them to stay out of the states right to election law.

Bush v Gore was a 5 to 4 ruling with Kennedy being the swing vote. Kennedy voted to stop the recount so that he could select a republican as president.

Another case of republicans wiping their butt with the constitution. Fyi, Gore won the recount after the fact.
