Republicans Aren’t Going To Let The DOJ Off The Hook And Say There Are Too Many Details Missing From The IG Report
The Document was enough to convince even skeptics that there were some serious anti-Trump undertones within the FBI, leading up to the 2016 elections. However, GOP lawmakers say the report is still biased and incomplete and are vowing not to let the DOJ off the hook.
Even a writer from The Hill stated that “it’s obvious that certain officials inside the FBI hated Trump — but more importantly, saw it as their mission to stop Trump from obtaining the presidency. Peter Strzok, who led both the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s email server and into allegations of Trump-Russia election collusion, texted his paramour, fellow FBI agent Lisa Page, that he would “stop” Trump from becoming president.
The IG report found that this text “is not only indicative of a biased state of mind but, even more seriously, implies a willingness to take official action to impact the presidential candidate’s electoral prospects.” That text was sent on Aug. 8.
One thing that is raising brows is that the report concluded that Comey and his team’s bias opinions and plans to ‘get Trump’ did not influence their decisions during the investigation. The IG report also uses some pretty weak language in terms of Comey’s gross negligence calling him ‘unprofessional’ instead.
As Written By Fox News:
The report on the FBI’s Hillary Clinton email investigation issued Thursday by Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz confirms the gross misconduct of fired FBI Director James Comey, but – incredibly – fails to find any political bias in the actions of Comey and his inner circle.
Yet the political bias by Comey and his team was there and is obvious.
In some ways, the IG report resembles the notorious news conference that Comey held in July 2016 that both excoriated and exonerated Clinton for her improper and irresponsible use of a personal email server to handle official State Department business while she was secretary of state in the Obama administration.
