We are a predominantly Christian-based society (meaning our moral and ethical codes are based in Christianity) but are forbidden to have a state religion, or to persecute others for their religious beliefs. That's why Christians, Jews, Muslims, and even you pagans can all live together in one tolerant society.

If we always have then why is that was added so recently?

We are a secular nation with a mostly Xtian population. Our morals and ethics come from a variety of places.

We live together because of this secular structure, but your recent push for Xtian nationalism will change that quickly.
