Legal immigrants always have a pathway to citizenship. Illegals, never.

The GOP passed the 14th Amendment to stop Democrats from denying freed slaves citizenship.

When it comes to that, Liberals are not for shutting down the border. Just everyone else

I'm glad the virus has taken a hold of Mexico.

Yes we WERE a melting pot, but lately it has become politically expedient to change America into a Smelting Pot, balkanizing us into our various and multiple different groups for maximum grievance and special groups needing government protection and loyalty payments.
We have an estimated 11 million illegal immigrants in this country, the vast majority are law-abiding, hard-working, contributors to this country. We need a cogent immigration policy that enables a path to citizenship for them.

What's the difference between a melting pot and a smelting pot?

The last election rejected 'balkanization'.

Oh, shut your goddam mouth. Breaking the law is breaking the law. they're clogging up our schools and hospitals, getting freebies when they're not even citizens, and look at all the crime, drug trafficking, and human trafficking.

The criminal element is a very small percentage of the illegal immigrant community. Or maybe you think we should continue to deport nurses and business owners who contribute to our society because they are illegal.

First World scum came to our continent and built this country. They were our grandparents. Immigrants, legal immigrants, are THE key component to American Exceptionalism. Millions come here intent on working hard and making a better life for themselves and their children, and in the process they build for us a better and stronger country. Those legal immigrants tend to also be among the most patriotic Americans because they understand what America represents and risk much to jump through the open door of opportunity that our country provides. And when they pass through that door and into citizenship, many become fiercely proud to call themselves Americans, a life long dream for many, to be "American". I am proud to welcome them into our country, knowing full well that they build upon the one tradition that sets America apart from the rest of the world and in the process, help to keep America fresh, invigorated, motivated, and most importantly, capitalist.

Unfortunately progressivism is the hubris of successful conservatism. It is comprised of a class of valueless people seeking meaning in their lives while typically living off the productivity of their parents or grandparents. They are the dead wood of our country and like the forests out west, the lack of maintenance has resulted in the high risk of wild fire, such as we have seen this year.

But I digress. Our problem is with illegal immigration and the acceptance by our political leaders of it. As this Mexican ambassador makes perfectly clear, she does not expect a Biden administration to defend our borders at all and that we are weak, ripe for invasion. Ripe for colonization. Ripe for exploitation. Ripe for conquest.

But I will bet you this; if they succeed the first thing they will do is to clear out all the dead wood.
